Straight lines, straight answers.
We built Maple Coat because getting a room painted in Ottawa meant three phone calls, two site visits, and a quote that arrived “within 5–7 business days.” Here's the whole process, honestly described — including the one step where a human checks our own math.
1Describe the job
Say what you want painted, in your own words, on the website. You see the price in seconds, before we ask for your name. Prefer to tap? Every question has buttons too.
2Send it — no payment today
Pick a start day and add your address. We do not take payment or require an account at this step.
3Send photos of each room
A guided doorway view, opposite-corner view, and ceiling-line view from your phone, plus a close-up only when you report damage or staining. Each photo is checked immediately so you can retake an unusable angle before moving on. Before you upload anything, we explain how photos are used, stored privately, and deleted.
4A person verifies your photos
A real person checks your photos against your order. If something genuinely differs — say the photos show a wall that needs more preparation — we explain it in writing. You review and accept the written contract before a deposit becomes payable.
5We schedule and paint
You'll know your crew's name before the day. They protect the space, paint to the published scope, photograph the checklist, and walk you through the result. The balance is due only when you've seen the work.
6Your home remembers
Colours, finishes, and dates are saved to your account. Next time, your account starts a new quote from your last project.
Why we can show prices when others can't
Traditional painters price each job by visiting it — so every price is a negotiation. We standardized the product instead: defined room sizes, a published scope, and honest adjustments for the few things that genuinely change the work. Some jobs run a little heavy, some a little light; across many rooms it averages out, and nobody pays for a salesperson's afternoon.
