Privacy policy

Effective 30 July 2026 · Maple Coat Painting Corp., 1 Rideau St, #728, Ottawa, ON K1N 8S7 · hello@maplecoatpainting.ca

This policy describes how we handle personal information under Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA). It applies to the website, order process, customer account, project communications, and painting service.

What we collect, and why

Your home photographs, specifically

AI-assisted features

Cookies and advertising

Essential cookies (your cart, your session) always work. Optional advertising cookies (Google, Meta) load only if you choose “Allow” in the consent banner — and you can change your mind by clearing the choice in your browser. Declining never affects your ability to order.

Sharing

We share information only with: the crew assigned to your project (name, address, photos, scope); our payment processor (payment details); OpenAI when you use an enabled AI-assisted feature; and service providers under contract (hosting, email delivery). We do not sell personal information. If we advertise, conversion data shared with ad platforms follows your consent choice above.

Storage, safeguards, and retention

Maple Coat uses access controls, authenticated customer and staff sessions, private file storage, audit records, and service-provider safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Some contracted providers may process information outside Canada, where local law applies. Order, contract, invoice, and accounting records are retained as required for service, tax, dispute, and legal purposes. Other records are deleted or de-identified when no longer reasonably needed; the specific photo period is stated above.

Children

The service is intended for adults arranging work for a property. Maple Coat does not knowingly seek personal information from children.

Access, correction, deletion, and complaints

Email hello@maplecoatpainting.ca to access or correct your information, delete photos or your account, withdraw consent, or complain. Maple Coat will verify identity before providing or changing protected records and may retain information where law or an active contract requires it. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Policy changes

Maple Coat may update this policy as services or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. A material change affecting an existing consent will be communicated through an appropriate customer channel.
