A community built across decades

Orléans grew in waves. About 28% of its homes went up from 1981 to 1990, more than in any other decade, and about 18% from 1961 to 1980. In the older Orléans West-Innes ward area (Convent Glen, Orléans Village, Hiawatha Park), about 34% date from 1961 to 1980.

The newest wave is in the Orléans South-Navan ward area (Avalon, Notting Gate, Trailsedge, Chapel Hill South), where about 22% of homes were built from 2016 to 2021.

Questions we hear from Orléans neighbours

"Our living room, dining room and family room are all separate. Do they have to match?" No. Each room comes with its own colour at no extra charge. The living room prices as large ($1,270 furnished). The dining room is medium ($1,035, or $905 as a later room in the same order), and the family room is priced on its own.

"Our 1980s house has dark green and burgundy rooms. Does going light cost more?" Yes, a little. Covering a dark colour with a lighter one adds a flat line: $95 small, $125 medium, $155 large. The $85 premium paint upgrade removes that line and opens any colour, custom matches included. More: dark-to-light colour change.

"The trim is what makes it look dated. Can you do just that?" Trim is its own line: baseboards, casings and up to two doors for $240 small, $300 medium, $360 large. For houses from 1960 to 1990, Health Canada says indoor paint may hold smaller amounts of lead and advises against sanding or heat-gunning it. Read Health Canada's page and tell us your build year. "We just moved into a new South-Navan townhome. Anything special?" Usually not. Newer walls need only the included washing, scuff-sanding and nail-hole filling. The open main floor prices as large.
